Proposed changes
I am a member of the Collin College public relations staff and cannot edit directly, as it would be a conflict of interest. Upon reviewing this Wikipedia entry, there are a few areas of concern which should be addressed for matters of fact and/or clarity. I appreciate any help you can provide. Also, please forgive any formatting issues or poor form I have in this edit request, as it is my first time making one. The infobox on the right-hand side lists the college's motto as "We have a passion for: Learning, Service and ..." However, the college does not have a "motto" per se. Those are the college's "Core Values". The closest thing that we have to a motto is our Vision Statement, which is "Delivering a brighter future for our students and communities." If it is possible to change "motto" to "Vision Statement" followed by that sentence, I believe that would be more correct. https://www.collin.edu/aboutus/missioncorevalues.aspx First paragraph: Can we move the information about rebranding efforts (including the phrase "formerly known as ...") to a secondary paragraph? The college made that move more than a decade ago and changed its domain more than seven years ago. I don't know if that effort remains primary information. First paragraph: Collin College now serves "more than" 53,000. That is reflected on our boilerplate for all news releases at http://www.collin.edu/news/. A suggested sentence would be: "Collin College serves credit and non-credit students at multiple campuses across its service area. Graduates from Collin College and their accompanying honors are not distinguished by campus." Campuses Section, First Paragraph: Please change "comprehensive" to "substantial" or strike it altogether. Please change the word "New" to "Campus" at the beginning of the second sentence, as those features are no longer new. Please delete the sentence fragment that begins "The building boasts". Campuses Section, Second Paragraph: The second sentence is misleading. These programs are district-wide, with classes and events at all campuses. Can we strike it? Campuses Section, Fourth Paragraph: Please change the fifth word "campus" to "educational centers". This is a term used by the district and other educational institutions to distinguish between the larger campuses and smaller institutions like those listed at Allen, Plano and Rockwall. Campus Section, site listings: Please delete the ninth entry "Melissa". No campus/center has been approved in that city. Please add "Public Safety Training Center (future center site)" http://starlocalmedia.com/mckinneycouriergazette/news/ground-broken-on-public-safety-training-center/article_1baeb0e0-1bc3-11e7-9aa6-87815cce163e.html Please change the Farmersville and Celina parenthetical entries to say "future educational center site" per the nomenclature established above. Collin Higher Education Center section, second paragraph: The college has five university partners - Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman's University, The University of Texas at Dallas and University of North Texas. http://www.collin.edu/chec/ Athletics section: Athletics are open to students at all campuses, not just the Plano campus. - @KirkDickey I am willing to work on these revisions for you. I believe it would be beneficial to move the former name into a new History section that would also include the dates that the various campuses opened. I have started working on that in my user sandbox along with finding additional sources for this section. Notability
One of the faculty members received a notable award from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. This award is supported by an article from the national publication The Chronicle of Higher Education, a clearly reliable source. This sourced content has been removed as being insufficient. I readded the faculty member with the reference from The Chronicle of Higher Education and added a second citation from USA Today. A person with a national award and multiple references is notable. Just a question: If a college itself considers a faculty member to be notable, would that be enough? For example they list notable faculty here http://www.collin.edu/news/cougarPride.html and some here http://www.collin.edu/ce/spotlights/index.html? Given this college has 45K students, and hundreds of faculty members, would not the colleges own determination of notability bear some merit? Willbennett2007 (talk) 20:00, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

I deleted Chuck Easttom from Notable faculty. From what I can see he teaches continuing education and adjunct, so is not really a faculty member, though he may be notable Willbennett2007 (talk) 14:23, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
Name
The college has changed its name to simply Collin College, and did that over a year ago. Furthermore they now have a program that is a venture with several major universities whereby they offer Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Degrees. This along with a student body of over 45K, should the 'community college' part of the name be removed? Willbennett2007 (talk) 20:02, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

athletic department
The tennis team tied for the NJCAA national championship in 2010, hosted the men's championships in 2010 and are hosting them again in the spring of 2011. I'd say the athletic department deserves a section now. The school also had a baseball team, but had to fold. They still have a baseball field (Sewell Field) being used by John Paul II's baseball team.yuor faec (talk) 05:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
